a school house at his own expense &c. We furnished him with teachers blanks, and promised to aid him in case we could ascertain that he was doing this work. We heard nothing from him further until yesterday, when he called again and stated that he had continued teaching and had mailed his monthly reports for the Bureau Superintendent, at Horse Head Post Office, not one of which, however, have been received. If this man is really doing half the work he represents we can secure for [[rubbed out]] him the same salary that our other teachers receive.

They are expecting a teacher and it is a good place. Please write at once and inform us whether you accept or not.
