Miss:

Yours of the 10th inst. is at hand. In places where the colored people have no church we expect them to hold their meetings in their school-house, if they have one, but in no case to interfere with the school.

You must get the trustees to settle this matter. Advise them what to do &c. We have no agent whom we can send to call a meeting and address the people of your place at present.

If you have a night school please report it on this [[insert]] same blank [[/insert]], but keep the two separate, and carry figures of night school further to the right.

Very respectfully, Yours,
D. G. Swaim,

Dear Sir:

We sent a teacher named [[underlined]] Hunter Harden [[/underlined]] nearly two months ago to take charge of your school, but have heard nothing from him since.

Please inform us whether he is with you or not. If he is teaching please tell him that we want his school report for November immediately. He should have sent it on the 1st day of the month.
