[[underlined]] Whittington [[/underlined]] at home, I wish you would conclude to take a separate school for there so many yet without teachers. I would like to have you take the school at [[underlined]] Dawsonville, Montg'y Co. [[/underlined]] It is close to [[underlined]] Washington. Miss Whittington [[/underlined]] can get help from our friends there can't she?

Sir:

Mr. [[underlined]] Crosby [[/underlined]] returned yesterday and in a few days we will have things shipshape. I enclose a letter [[underlined]] Crosby [[/underlined]] wrote to [[underlined]] Douglass [[/underlined]] which is a sort of implied promise to continue him during the month of December. [[underlined]] Crosby [[/underlined]] says [[underlined]] Douglass [[/underlined]] has received $30.00/100 and did not keep school 4 weeks all told, and then had only six or seven scholars. I am expecting to hear from [[underlined]] Forktown [[/underlined]] every day. [[underlined]] Shadd [[/underlined]] has written about his pay, but not about any other school. I shall write to him today. He has no pay due him. His bills for books balanced his a/c. He can go to [[underlined]] Queen Ann's Co., [[/underlined]] if he wants to.

Yours &c

Dear Madam:

Can I send [[underlined]] Joseph Chew [[/underlined]] to [[underlined]] Church Hill, Queen Ann's Co. [[/underlined]] your commission? He is recommended to me by the [[underlined]] Supdt. Public Schools [[/underlined]] of this City and wanted to go to [[underlined]] Marlboro [[/underlined]] but they seem well satisfied with Miss [[underlined]] Douglass [[/underlined]] and she has a fine school. I have told [[underlined]] Chew [[/underlined]] to come Monday morning for an answer.

Yours Respectfully

Dear Sir:

Since writing you the [[underlined]] Baltimore Association [[/underlined]] have sent a teacher to [[underlined]] Salem, [[/underlined]] so [[underlined]] Shadd [[/underlined]] cannot go there. The school at [[underlined]] Parker's Creek [[/underlined]] is waiting for a teacher, can not you send him there?

Very Respectfully
