Her pay for Nov. was sent her late in December from here. [[end page]] [[start page]] Somers cannot raise a paying school at [[underlined]] Dame's Quarter [[/underlined]] and I think best to order him to close up there and go to [[underlined]] Forktown [[/underlined]] in place of [[underlined]] Anderson. [[/underlined]] It is close by and will not cost as it would to send a new teacher there. Will you give the order or shall I? [[underlined]] Crosby [[/underlined]] is making out the list you represented. Cant you send those two teachers to [[underlined]] Solomon's Island. [[/underlined]] Do, if you possible can. He sent one in and I returned it for correction and he has not corrected it yet. If Congress does not abolish us we shall be glad to open all the schools during the summer as you propose. I have recommended that hereafter the term commence on January 1st and run through the summer. We can always get better schools in the summer months than the autumn. I wish you could take two or three more schools from March 1st. Very Respectfully Bvt. Major & Supdt. Education D.C. [[line across page]] 641 Bureau R.F. & A. Lands Office Supdt. of Education.
