school at Upper Marlboro. "The school is in good working order and numbers 97 scholars, with an average attendance of 65 to 70. The people like the teacher much better than any one they have had and she is satisfied. She has excellent order and is doing a good work among this people. We held a well attended meeting at night with the parents of the children, and had a time long to be remembered. Mr. Clark a lawyer of this place, was with us and made two speeches. The school house is in good repair. I presume Miss Douglass will give you a report of the meeting, but I thought I would tell you what our agent thinks of the school.

Yours respectfully
Bvt. Major and Supt. Ed.

We have to wait for the reports to come in before we can get the money. You will have a paying school at Forktown. It is on the Delaware Rail Road. Write to me just as soon as you get this.

Yours respectfully
