Dear Sir;

I return your deed and I also send you some blanks. If I can get an appropriation it will be necessary for you to have the Deed recorded and a copy made and sent to me with the clerks certificate of record. They are getting very particular now. I would advise you to have a new deed made out on the Blanks as that will be more secure than the old deed.

What is the reason they do not have a a large school at Church Hill? I shall have to take the teacher away if they do not have 30 this week.

Yours Respectfully
Bvt. Major and Supt. of Education.

Dear Sir

I am surprised at the statement in your letter that the people were not ready for you, as they had promised me a large school. Please call the trustees together and tell them that if there is not an average attendance every day of at least 30 scholars the school will be closed at once and you will be sent to another school. They have had ample time to get ready and must attend to the matter immediately, if they want to have a school. Please report at once.

Yours Respectfully
Bvt. Major and Supt. of Ed.
