Mrs C S Potter has labored among the Freedmen in this Department, as a teacher and Superintendent of Schools, for some time past. Her work has come constantly under my inspection. She is an excellent teacher, one of the best we have. And as a Superintendent, she is not excelled by any lady of my acquaintance. She has remarkable executive ability and is very prompt and careful in the transaction of business. Those who are teachers under her charge always have a high regard for her. Mrs Potter is worthy of the entire confidence of those who employ her.

John Kimball
Supt of Schools.
