Rev S. C. Logan
Cor Sec Comr of Freedmen

Dear Sir.
I have talked with Mr Newton about removing his teachers from the School in Georgetown and giving you the whole Building. He is not willing to make the change. I see not therefore how we can accomplish all that you desire in that place.

Mr Newton thinks that other Church services so near the Colored Methodist Church would not be wise. This is a reason why it might be better for you to use the basement of the Pres Church for such services & Sab School.
I think that would be the better way. I hope you will retain your teachers in the Georgetown School. Shall hope to see you here again in a few weeks.

Very respectfully,
John Kimball
Supt of School.
