Dear Sir,
We are now ready to open a school at the "University" Building on 7th St. The house is in good order, and I shall order the desks from Philadelphia today.
We have not arranged for boarding the students & think we will not just yet but [[?]] what sort of a school we can gather of. An advanced or normal grade from those who will live in their own homes. It is the desire of the Master & of Genl Howard that your Asst. furnish a Teacher for this important position. Will you do it? If you can send a single man he can have a first rate room in the Building. If you send a man & family we will give a very comfortable house for his home.
Very respectfully
John Kimball
Supt of Schools.
