Capt Lawrence.

I send you a plan of School House with two rooms. I am not a carpenter and cannot tell without a little trouble, the amount of different kinds of lumber. I presume you can get an estimate from some carpenter without much trouble. I then wish you would send me a list of the lumber needed. and let me know if you can get it all at Leonardtown & at what cost. We can then determine if it is best to buy there or here. Tell me the kind of lumber you can buy. I hope you will move this thing along, now is the time. I think Genl Howard will pay for all lumber needed, if it does not cost too much.

Very respectfully
John Kimball
Supt of Schools
