Sir,

We are willing to send lumber, & hope to do it, for a school in Leonardtown, but we are greatly in favor of a one story Building, and not in favor of putting a house which will cost us a good deal of money, on a poor lot of ground.  A side hill gives good drainage but we ought to have 1/2 an acre of good land.  If the way seems open, I think we can put up several houses in St Marys, and the General is glad you are taking hold of this matter with energy.  Captain, go ahead with this matter.  Get a good lot
