Capt J C Brubaker,

Capt,

I return you this estimate that you may make it more particular & complete. We want that you should estimate the lumber by the m. & also tell us what the amount you ask for will cost. (I think 7 x 2 joist should be 3 x 8 or 10). Tell us the amount of nails & lime & the kind of nail. And after giving the amounts give the total that all the stuff required will cost delivered in Shepherdstown & the same for Charlestown. Then if we can send better from here we shall do so, or if the total is too high the General can say what he will & will not furnish. The sent down a list of material from Martinsburg & I sent it back with the same request. They should send the price list [[underlined]] immediately [/underlined]]. There has been too much delay. I am going away. Send your letter to Genl C H Howard.
