Oct 3rd 7
J S Whiting Esq.

Dear Sir.
Gnl Howard will aid you in erecting a House for a Free Colored School, according to the plan which I send herewith, upon land deeded to the Board of Education for the township of Mansfield, to the amount of $200.00. This money he will for lumber or work, when you send him the Bills. He cannot advance the money. If you can get a better plan we have no objection, but we want a house as [[underline]]large [[/underline]] as the plan I send. We have not the slightest objection to the using of the House for a Church, but we want it built for a Free Public School for Colored Children. I hope to hear soon that the work is going on

Very respectfully Yours
John Kimball
Supt of Schools
