Washington D C.
Oct 3 1867.

Capt A A Lawrence.

Dear Sir

I paid the debt with the money you gave me & rec'd $2.00 back. I suppose you have an account of the same.

I send you the stores & Bill which I have paid $18.45. taking out the $2.00 leaves you $16.45 in my debt. I took your Bonds & had them changed but have not been able to get the 5/20 Bonds yet. I have called, about a week ago, but was told that on account of delay in printing, they were not ready. I do not know if any interest is due, but there were no cupons on the 7/30. I cannot tell about interest until I get the 5/20, but doubt if any is coming now.
