To
William Thomas Grandevey,
If the Colored people at Oak Hill will get a lot of land & have it deeded to School Trustees for a Public Colored School, and will get out the [[strikethrough]] lumber [[/strikethrough]] sills, plates, sleepers, corner foots & rafters, and show me that they can put up a School House 20 x 32 ft & 12 ft high, if the Bureau will furnish the rest of the lumber, then I think Gnl Howard will furnish the rest of the lumber as soon as the Canal opens in the Spring. I hope this will be done & the people will have a good school House & School next Spring.
