Mrs Alsop,

I have no way to pay the young woman for teaching in Lancaster Co Va., & I so wrote Miss Howland some time ago. If this person is well fitted to teach I may be able to find her a place in Maryland at the end of the month. I [[?????]] Teacher [[??]] have difficulty in finding good ones. I pay $20.00 per month to good ones & the colored people pay their board.

Very resp yours
