Miss Baker,
Miss Cadwallader informs me that she fears there is some uncertainty about your being able to retain her at Bladensburg. I hope you will not have to remove Miss C. she is doing a good work. We are not sending teachers anywhere unless the Colored people pay the board & all but the salary of the teacher which we make $20.00 for a lady. I think the same thing could be done at B & that the people should pay the board. & I believe they will do it if they find that otherwise they[[strikethrough]] must [[/strikethrough]] ^[[can]] not have a school.
