May 27th

Mr. Geo. W. Johnson
Darnestown, Md.

Dear Sir:
When I replied to your letter on the 6th inst. I had reason to expect that we would have a large number of teachers to locate this summer; at present, however, I am not certain whether any schools will be opened next month or not, but as soon as I can secure any teachers I will send one to Darnestown.

Very Respectfully, Yours,
W. L. Van Derlip
Bvt. Maj. & Supt. of Education
