JANUARY 3

19^[[61]] ^[[Having a sinking spell in my thoughts. I suppose my chances of being released sooner are better than they were but I am too unimportant a person for anyone to worry about me. My release depends on the whims of men who could care less what happens to me or for any single person. They think in millions and not in ones. Made over 500 envelopes today took a short nap, will work on carpet before going to bed. Potatoes for supper. Didn't want any so as soon as we get hot water which is delayed will have coffee, jelly, bread and margarine.]]

JANUARY 4

19^[[61]] ^[[Ran out of paper for making envelopes today. No more available so can't make many. Took one walk and tried to take a nap this afternoon. Unable to sleep. Have been sleeping badly for the last week or more. Read a little in The Story of Philosophy and worked more than usual on the carpet. Could not get the wool I need. I think I have enough black but the light green will be a problem. Pancakes for supper pretty good with the jelly my cellmate gets from home. Wish we had butter.]]
