19^[[61]] ^[[Has been a very bad day for me.  Have been very depressed most of the day. Took bath and was supposed to get a hair cut but barber did not show up.  Made no envelopes today because we have no paper.  Worked a lot on the carpet but am making little progress.  Potatoes for supper, didn't take any as usual.]]

JANUARY 6  

19^[[61]] ^[[Usual day.  Nothing unusual happened.  Still no paper for envelopes. [[circled]] Well it is not [[/circled]] our fault we aren't working. Worked on carpet a lot today. It is going to be very close - I don't know whether or not I have enough black wool.  I need a lot of light green also and it cannot be bought in town here. Maybe later. Had potatoes for supper. Added lard with fried onions, which came from my cellmates home. Makes them eatable.]]
