Myers Tampa Florida Oct. 31. 1852 Archibald Smith, Quincy, Florida Dear Sir, about a year since I wrote to you for certain sub-vouchers or testimony required by the Treasy Dept. in support of the small account paid by me to you - on March 10. 1851 - being for your personal expense while visiting this section of the state on Ind. Duty. I never recd any reply from you. This morning I have recd. a second call from the 2d Auditor of the Treasy for the evidence. If the money justly paid to you, will be charged to me unless this evidence is produced. I have to request yr prompt attention to this account. Yr. affidavit that the a/c is correct & just, and that it was not practicable for you to produce the subvoucher required - (or recpt. for each payment by you.) after you knew such sub-vou. were required will be the best evidence that the case affords I presume. At all events, I hope you will send me such vouchers or affidavits as will present the facts of the case x x x Yr. obd serv J C Casey
