General, I transmit herewith my summary statement for September, and my Quarterly accounts for 2nd and 3rd Quarters/47 viz. money accounts and property Returns.

I have to request that you will approve the vouchers for payment of my Clerk the service of a trustworthy Clerk are necessary on account of the large sums of money required by the C.S. in the field, even tho there were no accounts to be made out requiring aid at the desk.

Captain, Forward with the next train my 24 to 30 Bbls Ham if you have sound ones, and if there be any perfectly fresh rice -- landed in August 1847 as since - forward day, 50000 of it. Forward no [[underlined]]old[[/underlined]] Bread. Flour, Rice or beans.

P.S. I have to call your attention to the fact that nearly all the Bbls of Hams received here are reported as having been of very short weights. One ham appearing to have been taken out.

My requisitions of Sept 21st + Oct. 3rd (50.000 Rations Bacon 80.000 of Florida, 20.000 of Bread Hd. 75.000 of Beans 50.000 of Rice & 30 Bbl Hams) will I presume arrive by next train expected at the end of this month.

I now have to make a requisition on your depot to be executed toward the close of November, and I give you this early notice that you may if necessary procure [[underline]]fresh[[/underline]] supplies from the [[?]] [[?]] as follows

80,000 Rations Ham       70,000 Beans
20000 Bread              75,000 Rice
100000 Bacon             250000 Coffee
50000 Pork               200 000 [[?]]
200000 Canola            300,000 Soap
