Desires information as to what steps it is necessary for the colored people at that place to take in order to secure from the Bureau material for construction of a school-house.  Proposes to furnish them a lot if they can obtain the material &c. &c.

12/16-68. | 9. * Foster, W.H. | St. Nicholas, St. Mary's Co. Md.  Dec. 12th 1868.  States that he is in need of his last months salary.  Requests to be furnished with some envelopes. 

1/6-69. | 10. * Fletcher, Miss H.E. Teacher. | Bladensburg, Prince George Co. Md.  Jan 4th 1869.  Inquires on behalf of the colored people if the Bureau will furnish material to make blinds for their school house.  States that there is so much prejudice manifested by the whites she thinks it unsafe to be without them.

2.9.69. | 12. * Fletcher, Miss H.E. Teacher | Bladensburg, Prince George Co. Md.  Feb. 6th 1869.  States that the people are paying for school house and now owe 831.00: that Mr. Bowman will call as soon as able &c.

4.1.69. | 14. * Free Baptist Miss. Society.  Rev. N.C. Brackett. EB. #172. Vol. 1-1869. Agent. | Harpers Ferry, W.Va.  March 12th 1869.  Requests that $100.00 per month rental be paid for the building owned by them at Harper's Ferry, and occupied as a Normal school under the American Missionary Association.  The school numbers fifty three pupils with three teachers.

5.20.69. | 16. * Furgerson, Samuel | Sharpsburg, Washington Co. Md.  May 18th 1869. Acknowledges receipt of letter promising the colored people of that place a teacher, if they would pay his board and engage to send thirty pupils.  States that they will comply, and start a school with fifty pupils. 

6.18.69. | 17. * Foster, W.H. Teacher | Great Mills, St. Mary's Co. Md.  June 14th 1869.  Inquires if the schools are to continue through July. Requests in behalf of the people, a visit from Supt. of Education. Inquires if teachers are to receive transportation home &c. 

10.23.69. | 18. * Ferguson, Samuel H. | Sharpsburg, Washington Co. Md. June 21st 1869.  Reminds the Supt. of Education that he wrote them promising to send a teacher to this place on the 18th of June.  States that they are prepared for a teacher, and will be disappointed if one is not sent them &c.
