1.3.70 | 1 * Butler, Wm H. | Annapolis, Md. Jany. 2d 1870.  States that Mrs. [[underlined]] Clark [[/underlined]] is at Annapolis, and that they have applied to the Baltimore Association to appoint her as teacher for their school, but without success: that if the Supt. will have her appointed by some society she will have a large number of pupils, &c.

1.3.70 | 2 * Booth, Miss J. Teacher | Hanesville, Kent Co. Md. Dec. 30th 1869. Gives an account of the condition of her school. States that the trustees neglect to provide sufficient fuel, and that the people are in debt for her board, &c. &c.

1.4.70. | 3 * Burroughs & Knight | Chaptico. St. Marys Co. Md.. Dec. 30th 1869. States they they cashed a check for [[underlined]] Susan Brown [[/underlined]] (teacher), for $ 14.98/100: that they sent the check to a firm in Baltimore, which they deny having received. Request that its payment be stopped, and they be furnished with a duplicate. 

1.4.70. | 4 * Bracy, James T. Teacher. | Port Tobacco, Charles Co. Md. Jany. 3d 1870  States, in reply, that the people promise to send their children, and look after the interests of the school.

1.7.70. | 5 * Bevans, Saml. Teacher | Pisgah, Charles County, Md. Jany 5th 1870  Forwards his school report. States that he has not received the books he ordered.

1.13.70. | 6. Bureau R. F. & A. L. Genl. H. M. Whittelsey A. A. A. General. | Washington, D.C. Jany. 12th 1870.  Directs the Supt. of Education D. C., to proceed from Washington, to Annapolis, Md. on business connected
