States that he called a meeting at this place, and the people made the following charges against their teacher: that he is a drunkard,, and frequently carries a bottle of whiskey to school: that he neglects his duties while under the influence of liquor, that he made an attack on a man with a razor, &c. &c.

States that the school at this place is doing well, and the trustees take more interest in the work than in most places: that they are in need of lumber to enlarge the school house.

Davis' School House.
March 5th 1870
States that he called a meeting at this place, and the people wish to have school opened at once: that they would like to have [[underlined]] Mrs. Davis [[/underlined]] for teacher, who lives in the  neighborhood, and whose husband is willing to have her teach without charging for board, which the people are not able to pay: that they promise to gather a school of pupils, &c.

States that they have a good teacher at this place, but the people take little interest in school matters: that he addressed a meeting, and the people promise to do better.
