Writes in reply to Supt's letter inquiring for teachers, and states that there are two graduates of the High school who are willing to come upon the proposed conditions.  [[underlined]] Charlotte E. Scott [[/underlined]] and [[underlined]] Andrew F. Hill. [[/underlined]] 

2,23,'70 #34 * | Counsellor, M.E. | Philadelphia, Penna.  Feby. 31st 1870.  States the receipt of letter from [[underlined]] Mr Jno. H. Butler [[/underlined]] informing her of a vacancy at Union Chapel West River, and requesting that I write you in relation to taking charge of the above named school.  Refers to the fact of having taught under the auspices of Baltimore Association.

2,11,'70 #36 * | Commission, Pa. Branch F.U.  Col. R.R. Corson, Cor. Secy. | Philadelphia, Pa.  February 14th 1870.  Inquires how much is due [[underlined]] Douglass, [[/underlined]] if anything.  Requests to be furnished with a list of their Maryland teachers, giving location, number of pupils enrolled, average attendance, &c.

Forwards check for $739.50/100 to pay their Maryland teacher's salaries for mo. of January.  States that account calls for $188.80/100, which includes three teachers he had paid, viz [[underlined]] W.V. James $15.00, Virginia Taylor $14.00, M.E. Lyons $20.00 = $49 [[/underlined]] Does not wish any of their teachers promised transportation to to or from their fields of duty.

2,28,'70 #38 * | Counsellor, Mary E. | Philadelphia, Pa.  February 26th 1870.  States that she wrote the Supt. in relation to the school at Union Chapel.  Inquires if her letter was received.

3,1,'70 #39 * | Clark Evelina E.  Teacher. | Pantuxent, Anne Arundel Co. Md.  February 26th 1870.  States that she delivered Supt's message to Moses Thompson, and he inquires what aid they may expect, if they buy land and have it deeded for school.  Acknowledges receipt of check for $8.72/100.

3,3,'70 # 40* | Commission, N.Y. Branch F.U.  Mrs R.C. Lowell Secy. | North Shore N.Y.  March 2d 1870.  Regrets that [[underlined]] Miss Iredell [[/underlined]] has left Federalsburg.  States that she sent her $28.30/100 to pay her salary for the mo. of February, and transportation:  that she would like to have another teacher sent in her place on condition that she can be withdrawn at any time.
