Forwards letter of [[underlined]] Miss Gloucester [[/underlined]] teacher, requesting payment of her salary for present month.  Thinks [[underlined]] Price [[/underlined]] will take the school at Pisgah.

Harrison, $20.16/100 and $5.00/100 paid Miss Smith.  States that they will employ the young man mentioned to teach the school at Beaver Dam with the understanding that he may be withdrawn at any time.  Requests that their teachers be supplied with school register and blanks.

States that he sent $20 to [[underlined]] Isaiah W. Somers [[/underlined]] on the 28th ult., in in payment of his salary for February.

Has been informed that the State of Maryland is about to assume the support of all its freedmen's schools.  Inquires if this is true.  Thinks the 1st of June a good time to close their schools.  Inquires whether other societies continue their schools longer.
