1: 7. 70/ | 2 Douglas, Mary G Teacher. * | Brighton, Montgomery Co. Md. Jany 3rd 1870 States that she has just arrived and will open school on the 4th inst. Inquires how she can obtain books.

1, 18, '70. #3 * | Douglas Joseph G. Teacher. | Piscataway, Prince George's Co. Md. January 16, 1870. States that school was opened Jany, 10th inst. with 20 pupils, in prosperous condition. States difficulty with the whites.

1, 27, '70 # 4 * | Dickinson John | Milestown, St. Mary's Co. Md. January 13, 1870. States that he has written three times to Maj Swayne relative to a teacher, and have been for two mos. prepared to receive one, and wishes attention to the matter immediately.

2, 1, '70 # 5 * | Douglass, Martha A. Teacher. | Upper Marlb'h, Prince George's Co. Md. January 28, 1870. States her arrival, and she opening of school on the 18th. Has 64 pupils, Desires to be instructed as to how she shall report. Enclosed is a corroboration of the statement by Levi Barling, one of committee of school.
