3,19,'70 #14 * | Perkins Wm. | Chestertown, Kent Co. Md.  March 17th 1870  Forwards copy of deed of school lot at Broad Neck, Kent Co., Md.  States that he has visited eight of the schools in that County, and with one exception they are in a flourishing condition. 

3,23,'70 #15 * | Perkins Wm. | Chestertown, Kent Co. Md.  March 21st 1870.  States that the people of Compton are in want of a teacher:  that they can gather eighty pupils, &c.

3,29,'70 #16 * | Perkins Wm. | Chestertown, Kent Co., Md.  March 26th 1870.  States that their teacher Wm. S. Anderson is about to leave, and the Baltimore Association cannot fill his place.  Requests that a teacher be sent by the Supt., &c.

3,15,'70 #17 * | Potts Wm. | Centerville, Queen Anne Co. Md.  March 12th 1870.  States that many of the colored people of the place are dissatisfied with the trustees for employing a carpenter, who is a [[underlined]] Conservative, [[/underlined]] to build their school house, while he [[underlined]] (Potts [[/underlined]] a good [[underlined]] Republican) [[/underlined]] offered to build the house for ten dollars less than the contractor.  Thinks the house will be sold as many of the people refuse to pay what they agreed to, &c. &c. &c.

States that [[underlined]] Miss Anna Hawkins [[/underlined]] desires to attend some good school, and inquires where she should apply for admission:  the expense of tuition, &c. [[underlined]]  [[/underlined]]  [[underlined]]  [[/underlined]]

4,5,'70 #20 * | Payne, Geo. F. | Fairfield, St. Mary's County, Md.  March 31st 1870.  Inquires upon what terms the land can be purchased which [[underlined]] Genl Howard [[/underlined]] has for sale.  Requests to be furnished a catalogue of Howard University.  States he will pay [[underlined]] Cushings and Bailey's [[/underlined]] book bill when he receives his salary.

4,21,'70 #21 | Perkins William | Chestertown, Kent Co. Md.  April 19th 1870.  Returns vouchers signed.  Requests that a teacher be sent to take the school at Chestertown.

6.23.70 22 * | Perkins, Wm. | Chestertown, Kent Co. Md.  June 20th 1870.  Hopes something may be done for schools which have been deserted by the Baltimore Association.  States that the Association have withdrawn several teachers &c. &c.
