Dr Sir:
Yours of the 18th at hand. No primary school has been open at H.F. during Jany. The school Board would not do anything, and Mr Brackett had temporarily withdrawn the teacher. The school has been reopened, At Shepherdstown the same difficulty has prevailed, the house is ready and the commissioner has promised to supply a teacher at once.

The school at Charlestown will also be opened during the present week. The severe hardships that teachers are subject to at these points renders it difficult to secure capable teachers. At Romney, and Moorefield, they plead that the bad weather has prevented the completion of the houses. I am doing all I possibly can to hasten these matters.

Yours Respectfully
