B.85. O.S.E.D.C. Vol. 1. 1868.

Harper's Ferry, W. Va.
Aug. 26th/68.

Brubaker, Capt. J. C.

States that the leading col'd. men of Hagerstown attribute the delay in the erection of the house to a lack of confidence in the validity of the deed given by Mrs. [[underlined]] Clarence: [[/underlined]] that the trustees of the A.M.E. Church propose to deed a lot reserving the right of adding a 2d story for a hall: that as it seems to be the general desire to have the house erected on the last named lot, he advised them to sell for a nominal sum the lot referred to without reserve, and thinks they will act upon this suggestion: that the house at Sandy Hook is nearly completed: that the School Commissioners of Hedgesville have made application for aid to erect a house.

Rec'd O.S.E.D.C. 8/29th 68.

"Underlined" are lines that are preprinted lines and I wasn't sure if this would be considered "underlined"
