Sir:
I was at Hagarstown yesterday, found everything in confusion.  I called a meeting of the leading Col men who attribute the delay in the erection of the house to the want of confidence in the validity of the deed for the lot given by Mrs Clarance.  The trustees of the A.M.E. Church propose to deed a lot conditioned that should they at any time deem it practicable to build a [[underlined]] Hall [[/underlined]], that they reserve the privilege of adding a 2d. story.

There seems to be a general desire to have the house erected at the last named place.

With a view to harmonizing all parties I advised them that they should sell for a nominal sum the lot referred to without reserve.  I think they will unite and act upon this
