Dear Sir:-

Yours of the 30th ult. enquiring as to power of Trustees Jacob Juricks &c. &c. to convey certain property in Frederick County Md. to be used for School purposes has been received.

In reply I will state that the Trustees are vested with certain rights & powers and are charged with certain duties.  1st They [[strikethrough]] first [[/strikethrough]] hold the title for the use of the colored members of the Methodist Episcopal Church in the US.  2d They are charged with the duty of erecting a church 3d with permitting ministers of the said Methodist persuasion "to preach and expound Gods Holy word therein" according to the tenets of the Methodist Church as laid down by the General Conference.
