  No schools carried on prosperously hitherto should be allowed to stop so long as patrons of 
anykind can be secured. On the other hand, schools ought to be increased as fast as 
means are provided, and carried especially into destitute regions. The Associations, churches
&c., will in most cases, as [??we] learn, continue
their patronage, and are pledged to increase it 
if possible.
  It is especially desirable that these 
associations continue to (underlined) furnish (underlined) teachers,(underlined)
and superintend their work; and this Bureau will aid them by all means and facilities remaining in its possession.  As the amount of this aid however is uncertain, you will note 
the importance of appealing to patrons of every kind to do all in their power.
