THE AMERICAN MISSIONARY ASSOCIATION, (CENTRAL OFFICE, 53 JOHN STREET, NEW YORK,) has been working twenty-two years for the African race. Since the beginning of the Rebellion it has turned special attention to the Freedmen. Whatever a wise Christian benevolence prompts in their behalf, by way of Common Schools, Normal Schools, Orphan Homes, Relief for the suffering, and direct religious effort, the Association undertakes, to the full extent of the means furnished by the friends of the colored people. The Teachers and Missionaries last year numbered over 500.

April, 5.

Friend Kimball:
Some how I have got out of Blanks for reports gain - sent you one on A. M.A. Blank -
I have offered that girl - $10.00 per month to go to Pleasant Valley besides her board, and travel expenses.
With what I shall get out of the people, $15.00 will just do that I think.
What say to that?

Yours,
