Mr. Jno. Kimball,

Sir,
Will you be kind enough to tell me something of the two Maryland teachers, Miss Cummings and Miss Gibson. Which has the larger and better school? Which has the greater ability to write a good letter? I want a correspondent for the people in Auburn, who have paid us for the support of two colored teachers & accept any of those now at work that we will assign to them; as the support of neither of these is secured, one of them shall represent this Auburn fund if either is a reasonably good correspondent. Please give me the full address of the one you recommend.

Respy yours

Perhaps the new one, Miss Yorke would be better than either. Whenever you send us her name we will make ready her commission. Has she gone to her post yet?
