My dear Mr Kmll
I don't think the Board will pay any one in Maryland [[underlined]] [[?]] [[/underlined]] +25— [[underlined]] Twenty [[/underlined]] Dollars was the price given by Genl Howard when here. and I feel sure they will not give Mr Lawton any more than +25— [[?]] very poor—

I am looking for a telegraph from you this morning and hope you may be able to find a place for Mr Johnson when he can go and do as Lawton has done.—help build up the school—

Truly yours
