My dear Mr Kimball
I have just recd a telegraph from Genl Howard asking for Mr Johnsons full name that transportation might be sent—

Thinking by this that the place (Upper Marleborough) was open I directed him to call on you and go at once to the place.

He seems quite anxious to get to work and by waiting for transportation it would delay him [[over?]] Sunday. I thought he might get his transportation refunded — if not it was better not to be at expenses in Washington [[over Sunday?]].  I trust he may
