Blacks so that those who do stay can make a living Reduce the Whites to paying for their work. There is no justice here for the Black man anyway I wish they could all leave Md. 21 have gone to good homes among my friends in Bucks & Montgomery Co. Penn. More are going on the 16th The persons who want them send their fare as Gen Charles suggested & they work it out. The Rebs get very angry. Try to persuade them not to go. Say that I get $5 & 10 a head for sending them & that the folks North will sell them to Cuba in a short time. Some are foolish enough to believe it & get frightened But the majority believe me. Uncle Bowman says I am going to send them to Cuba. I have not seen him. When I do I shall tell him what I think. I begged 9 boxes of clothing from my friends North this winter so that I could have all come to school. Kept all of Bowmans in clothing pretty much all winter and I don't like him to persuade the Blacks to stay here. They just lounge about in the winter half starved. Please thee talk Uncle Bowman into better sense. Those old Rebel Clarks [[stiff?]] him & Aunt Kitty. They work so much for old clothes.
Very respectfully
