States that [[underlined]] Benj. F. Malone [[/underlined]] has taught school at that place in house built for colored children, for the three months ending July 11th; that the trustees of the Dist. employed Malone upon the proposal of the Supt. of Education, D.C. to him (Cooper), in letter of Jan 11th; that the Board of Education have paid all expenses of school, including salary above the $20. per month as warranted by this proposal; that the trustees have certified to the Board of Education these facts and also that Malone now claims $60. against the Bureau.

Encloses certificate of the County Supt. of Schools to the fitness of Malone for teacher, also certified statement of Trustees &c.
