Dear Mr. Kimball
The telegraph transportation was recd. this morning, many thanks to you. Miss Lewis was on her way South and we adopted her. She was waiting this morning, and went, on receiving her papers. Had you not better send the Cummings transportation [[underlined]] direct [[/underlined]] to them? They live at [[underlined]] Wellsboro, Tioga Co. Pa. [[/underlined]] I will write them today to be ready. 

Miss Howell, (a splendid teacher, I should judge) called here to say that she goes back to her school in Maryland, to remain [[underlined]] at least [[/underlined]] 'till the last boat comes up. Her mother is quite anxious to have her come away from there at that time. We have promised her a place in Va if she should come but I do not believe she will think of leaving her present school before spring. I told
