I have received my transportation papers and have complied with the requirements therein stated. The school is progressing finely  I opened school on Wednesday under very favorable circumstances, having an attendance of twenty scholars in the morning, the same remaining all day. Every thing is very satisfactory, and every one seems to be very anxious to acquire and Education

I have been informed by the Trustees that you have a copy of deed of school lot. The most friendly white man Capt. Lawrence and Mr. Geo Frederick Mattick  The address of principal Trustee Francis Thomas Leonardtown, St Mary County M.d.

The money is raised for board and incidentals by taxation, which all seem to be willing to pay to help Liquidate the expenses of school.
