I have the honor to hereby submit report for December 1868.

Early last month I rec'd a communication from Rev. Kimball saying my letter to you had been forwarded to him, also yours saying "write to Mr. K. for whatever I wanted, he sent me a copy of rules saying that they would tell me how to procure maps books etc. The books the children have to purchase & prededucted from my salery and as very few of them have [[ready?]] money to pay for them, and there is no use in their attending school without proper books I have either the alternative of allowing them to come without them or else furnishing the school with books which I do not think is just to them nor to my self.
