Through Mr. Carson I receved a situation from you as a Teacher, which i accepted  I intended to start to-day for my place of distination.  But being informed by others that were to take the same route that the Steamer did not run.

I called upon Mr Corson this morning who requested me to write to you and inform you of the facts To ascertain from you which rout i should take if I should come by the way of Washington.  And please to inform me if these Transportation papers that I now have will answere.  Or shall i have them altered by Mr Corson.  My School is called the Swamp School, at West River Landing.
