Cross Roads P.O. Charles County Md July 17th 1869 Rev John Kimball, Supt. of Education, Dear Bro, I am informed by Rev James B. Simmons, New York, that you have made out a bill against me for books amounting to $6.50 and sent it to them asking it to be paid. I have not received or heard from but $3.75 worth of books as yet, ordered of you. The freight upon which being 25 cents, the whole amounted to $4.00 For these I received the bill from Wm. Ballantyne 519, Seventh Street, Intelligencer Building, Washington D.C. As you have made out a bill against me also for the same books, I dont know who to pay you or him. Please write

I also think it is Bro, (compare to 2nd line of actual letter wherein the writer actually writes "Rev." -- AceOfAvon)
