Dear Sir,
The Writing=books and second hand Arithmetic sent by Mr. Brooke came safely to [[here?]].
As I presume, that you will send the $20.00 for the next month [[insertion]] by to = [?] [/insertion]] you can send it, less the price of the [[?]]doz. writing=books, by mail at once, and I will sign the receipt for the $20.00.
I have 82 pupils; and no doubt will have a hundred very soon. I hope and trust, that you will think best to regularly employ my friend Mr. Lewis to assist me.
The school is doing [[underline]] exceedingly [[/underline]] well - much beyond even beyond my most [[sanguine?]] expectations.
Respectfully,
