Dear Sir,
I herewith send the monthly report.  The attendance has been necessarily quite small on account of bad roads; but the prospects of no similar school can be fairer.

The Freedmen here meet with much discouragement from their former masters; and a few words from you, encouraging them to persevere, written to Rev. Thomas Harrison as to the "Trustees of the Mount Zion School, Olney, Md.," would work wonders.
