Recd letter of the 2d inst. States that the order for closing his school at the end of this month is deeply regretted by the colored people: that they intend to have a vacation of a few weeks, and then try to support the school themselves.

Requests that the supt. of Education will try to procure him a situation in Washington at a respecable salary, but if he cannot do this, that he will have his transportation papers made out to Bath, Steuben Co. N.Y., and forwarded so that he can leave for home August 1st.
