Mr. John Kimall Sir you & the rest of the frend, to the people of  the people of color has confird upon them by the help of God the Grates Blesing that we ever had in schooling our children but such is the condishon of a large number of us that we cant shire enny part of it  We are in a state with the Suder Lad, vill school but a bout 8 & a half [miles of & a Large Crick running be tween us & the school houe  it is five miles across & round as it considered tu far & not a fitn way to send our small children & tu far for us from [[wones?]] after labor & sir i am hear with a large numbar of ignerrent people and they are poor and it is Chirity to help us si Mr John H Butler has don well in the way mane ing for us but such is our condishon tha he could nit see in his short stay & sin  we have an old church & i was thinking that with 50$ we could fix it up and if you would help us to the amount of one hundred Dollars or 1020 $ or as much as ill give a start & these poor people will know you as our frend wish to help us & thay will keep the school a going & if it pleses you to do so you will much
