West River, Md. Aug. 18, 1868.
Mr. John Kimball

Dear Sir,
The people here are very anxious to hear you speak. And are on with their work well enough to assemble for the purpose. Can you come down about the 26th of this month? Please let me know. And send some hand bills if you think proper. I will put them up.

Mr. Edward Hall the most friendly white man of our school, is ready to receive you. If you come by the way of the boat, he will meet you at the landing.

I was up some time ago to see you with regards to my papers, but you were not in. Please let me hear from you as soon as you can.

Yours truly,
